The basic command for changing file permissions in unix based operating systems is the ‘chmod’ command. This command is executed with a set of parameters after it. With most FTP clients, you can simply select the filename you want to change the permissions of, right click, and choose the chmod command.

I would not have believed it until I personally signed up for an account with dreamhost. The host has been in good standing for quite a while and has be in service for more than 10+ years. So when it started to give out such an offer, I was surprised of their overselling but gradually and eventually I ended trying them out.
